Charity Dental Summit in Dallas: Empowering Oral Health Through Collaboration

Dallas County Dental Society Foundation held its fifth annual Charity Dental Summit in Dallas on March 2, 2024. This annual event brings together executive directors, lead dentists and key personnel from various charitable dental care providers to foster information sharing, communication and partnership opportunities that will enhance oral health in the local community.

Led by DCDS Foundation Board Members, this year’s attendees included representatives from Agape Clinic, Attitudes and Attire, Alliance to the DCDS, Family Place, Grace Center Texas, North Dallas Shared Ministries, Resource Center, Texas A&M School of Dentistry, and Union Gospel Mission.

Under the guidance of Summit Chairman Dr. Bill Gerlach, attendees engaged in small group discussions to highlight their organization's best practices and empathize on business threats. Advice was thoughtfully given and received during the large group discussions on how to address obstacles encountered while addressing the oral health needs of the community.

Dr. Chi Trieu, President of DCDS Foundation, acknowledges the Summit's role in fostering valuable networking opportunities, noting how the event has led to collaborative efforts, idea sharing and resource pooling among charitable organizations, ultimately resulting in improved service and care for Dallas County residents.
